HC Deb 11 November 1975 vol 899 c578W
Mr. Thompson

asked the Minister of Agriculture, Fisheries and Food what investigations are currently being undertaken within his Department into the viability of utilising wood residues from timber felling for domestic heating in slow-combustion stoves.

Mr. Strang

As a matter of general policy the Forestry Commission keeps under review possible uses for wood residues. Current research projects are directed towards the use of residues as a raw material for industrial products of relatively high value rather than as a fuel for which wood has a relatively low value.
