HC Deb 11 November 1975 vol 899 cc642-3W
Mrs. Millie Miller

asked the Secretary of State for Foreign and Commonwealth Affairs what arrangements are now being made to encourage liaison between women and women's organisations in the United Kingdom and in the rest of Europe.

Mr. Rowlands

The Women's National Commission has at my right hon. Friend's invitation, resumed its international and European rôle. A sum of £5,000 has been made available on a once-for-all basis by the Foreign and Commonwealth Office during the current year. The purpose of this grant is to facilitate the establishment of the commission's work in this field on a continuing basis and as an extension of the excellent work previously undertaken by the Women's European Committee as part of the European Cultural Programme.
