HC Deb 11 November 1975 vol 899 c658W
Mr. Henderson

asked the Secretary of State for Employment what studies have been carried out by his Department to assess whether areas in Scotland would qualify for the introduction of a weighting allowance similar to the London weighting allowance.

Mr. Harold Walker

None.

Mr. Henderson

asked the Secretary of State for Employment what action he has taken to ascertain whether the London weighting allowance is still justifiable.

Mr. Booth

I cannot see any grounds for another study so soon after the Pay Board's report (Cmnd. 5660) published in July 1974. The report recommended that London weighting should be updated annually and that a further major review should be carried out in a few years' time.
