All the national museums and galleries have programmes to interest the public in their collections. Their programmes include special exhibitions, education programmes, sales of publications and other forms of publicity. Wherever appropriate I will continue to draw attention to these matters. The removal of museum charges by this Government has added another incentive for the public to visit the museums, and I have no doubt that the increasing involvement of museums in education will increase the awareness of the public of the value of the national collections.
