§ Mr. Harold WalkerThe Chairman of the Health and Safety Commission informs me that non-fatal accidents notified under the Factories Act were as follows:

2. APPEALS
There have been appeals against 26 sets of notices issued by the Health and Safety Executive to date.
The subjects of the appeals included one or more of the following matters:
- 1. the period given;
- 2. the requirement of the notice; and
- 3. the issue of a notice.
3. RESULT OF APPEAL
- (a) 16 appeals were withdrawn before or during the hearing.
- (b) In 5 appeals an extension of the period was agreed or given.
- (c) In 5 cases the notice was upheld without modification.
4. PROSECUTIONS
Information has been received of 14 prosecutions with 20 informations heard for failure to comply with notices.
Convictions have been given in each case.
