HC Deb 11 November 1975 vol 899 c672W
Mr. Fairbairn

asked the Secretary of State for the Environment why it was decided to redecorate and refurnish the British-American Parliamentary Group Office in 7 Old Palace Yard; and what was the cost of so doing.

Mr. Armstrong

As part of my Department's responsibility for the upkeep of buildings on the Parliamentary Estate, necessary minimal work has been done to bring these basement rooms which had been badly affected by damp, up to the accepted standard for Government offices. The total cost was £522. Plaster repairs and redecoration of offices and corridor cost £400; provision of fibre-bonded floor covering, net curtains, with surplus standard furniture from the House and two discarded prototype bookcase pieces, cost £122.
