HC Deb 10 November 1975 vol 899 c404W
Mr. Richard

Wainwright asked the Secretary of State for Industry how many accidents involving fatalities occurred on British Railways during the last 12 months; how many people lost their lives; and what percentage of the total number of passengers carried this figure represents.

Dr. Gilbert

I have been asked to reply.

Two train accidents, in which five passengers lost their lives. This represents less than a millionth of 1 per cent. of passenger journeys.
