§ Mr. Tom Kingasked the Secretary of State for Industry how many public relations officers were employed by his Department in March 1974; how many are employed now; whether he expects to recruit any more during the rest of 1975 and 1976; and what are the salaries of those he has recruited and expects to recruit.
§ Mr. KaufmanThe number of information officers in the Department on 31st March 1974 was 53. The number currently in post is unchanged, and there has been no decision either to increase or decrease the number employed. At all relevant times some common services have been provided for the Departments of Trade and Prices and Consumer Protection.
