HC Deb 10 November 1975 vol 899 cc487-8W
Mr. Banks

asked the Chancellor of the Exchequer what is the budgeted total public expenditure sum for the year 1975–76, the figure of public expenditure to date, and the expected figure at the year end.

Mr. Joel Barnett

The estimate of total public expenditure in 1975–76 is £53,588 million. This is shown in Table 5 of the Financial Statement and Budget Report 1975–76, HC317.

Total expenditure in the period April to June 1975 was £12,384 million. Later figures are not available.

It is not the practice to publish revised estimates of the outturn for the current year other than in the Public Expenditure White Papers and at Budget time.
