HC Deb 10 November 1975 vol 899 cc382-3W
Mr. Fairbairn

asked the Lord Advocate in view of the consistent confessions of Ian Waddell to the murder of Mrs. Abraham Ross, if he will prosecute him either for murder of Mrs. Abraham Ross or for attempting to pervert the course of justice by claiming he murdered Mrs. Ross.

The Lord Advocate

I have had regard to all the evidence available, including the various assertions by Ian Waddell, and I have decided that prosecution of Waddell would not be justified.
