§ Mr. Michael Lathamasked the Chancellor of the Exchequer to what legislative or policy factors he attributes the increase in non-industrial staff in Her Majesty's Treasury from 997 on 1st March 1974 to 1,119 on 1st July 1975.
§ Mr. Robert SheldonIn-post numbers in March 1974 reflected a significant shortfall in clerical, secretarial, typing and other supporting staff owing to recruiting difficulties. The increase of 122 staff is mainly due to improved recruitment in these grades, including the replacement of agency typists, who are not included in Civil Service manpower figures by permanent staff.
