§ Mr. Frank Allaunasked the Secretary of State for Foreign and Commonwealth Affairs if he will make a statement on the recent meeting in London of representatives of seven countries exporting nuclear equipment to consider preventing the spread of atomic weapons, and on his own proposals to prevent this from happening.
§ Mr. HattersleyOfficials of a number of countries have met in London to discuss common problems in the field of nuclear energy. Since the discussions are multilateral and confidential I cannot give any further details. Proposals for strengthening nuclear non-proliferation were included in my right hon. Friend's speech to the United Nations General Assembly on 23rd September. We hope to give effect to them at the International Atomic Energy Agency.
