§ Mr. StrangAs manufacturer and exporter of a premium product in wide demand, the Scotch whisky industry is naturally susceptible to any downturn in world economic activity. However, the Government are in close touch with the industry on its problems at home and abroad, and wherever possible we are taking action to maintain the viability of this important sector in the national interest.
