§ Sir John Gilmourasked the Secretary of State for Scotland whether he has received any representations from the fishing industry to increase fishing limits since the announcement of the ending of aid to the industry at the end of 1975.
§ Mr. William RossAt the meeting on 23rd October which my right hon. Friend the Minister for Agriculture, Fisheries and Food and I had with representatives of the fishing industry they advocated as a priority the reappraisal of the common fisheries policy of the EEC and secondly the extension of limits. We confirmed that it was our intention to achieve these two objectives in consultation with our EEC partners and in the context of the Law of the Sea Conference respectively.
