The Prime Minister

I and other Ministers had a most useful series of discussions with Prince Fahd and his accompanying delegation over a wide range of bilateral and international topics, including the situation in the Arabian Peninsula and the Middle East, energy and the world economy. Her Majesty's Government attach great importance to the continuation of such a dialogue with Saudi Arabia at the highest level. Hon. Members will already have heard that my right hon. Friend the Secretary of State for Foreign and Commonwealth Affairs plans to visit Saudi Arabia as well as the Gulf States towards the end of November. I accepted an invitation from Crown Prince Fahd to visit Saudi Arabia and hope to do so at a mutually convenient date.
