HC Deb 04 November 1975 vol 899 cc155-6W
Mr. Crawford

asked the Secretary of State for Scotland what guidelines he has issued to regional and district authorities in Scotland to streamline planning permission procedures.

Mr. William Ross

I have issued general guidance on the planning system under the new local government arrangements; simplified the procedures for handling applications for development not in accord with any existing development plan; and issued guidance designed to simplify and speed up public inquiries. The Scottish Development Department is reviewing planning procedures with other interested bodies, to see what scope exists for further improvement.
