asked the Secretary of State for the Environment if he will give on a per capita and a per family basis the cost of the latest local government pay settlement.

The estimated annual cost of the recent pay settlement for local government manual employees in Great Britain is £205 million which is about £3.75 per head of the population or £14.10 per family.
