HC Deb 04 November 1975 vol 899 cc132-3W
Mr. Kenneth Clarke

asked the Secretary of State for the Environment what progress is being made in the strengthening of the high alumina cement concrete beams in the office block at Washington, County Durham, being constructed to house the child benefit section of the Department of Health and Social Security; and when it is now expected that this block will be completed and ready for occupation.

Mr. Armstrong

Work on the strengthening of parts of Durham House, Washington is proceeding on programme. It is now expected that the building will be complete and that occupation will commence in the autumn of 1976. The building should be fully occupied by spring 1977.
