HC Deb 04 November 1975 vol 899 cc97-8W
42. Mr. Madel

asked the Secretary of State for Social Services what research the Government are sponsoring into the financial needs of disabled children as promised in the House of Commons Paper 276, 1974.

Mr. Alfred Morris

An inter-disciplinary group of officials has been examining what further information is needed in the light of the data now available and of the research already carried out. It has had access to the very valuable work being done at York University on behalf of the Joseph Rowntree Memorial Trust, which is responsible for administering the Family Fund for severely handicapped children. We hope to commission further work on the financial and related needs of handicapped children and their families as an extension of the studies now in progress.
