Mr. Kenneth Clarke

asked the Secretary of State for the Environment what was the total area of office space occupied by the Department of Health and Social Security in February 1974; and what is the total now.

asked the Secretary of State for the Environment (1) how much office space in square feet the Property Services Agency has rented on behalf of Government Departments and their agencies in London and the rest of the United Kingdom, respectively, since March 1974; what is the total cost to the Exchequer; and what is the average cost per square foot in (a) London, and (b) the rest of the United Kingdom;

(2) what construction of office space in square feet for Government Departments and their agencies by the Property Services Agency has been started since March 1974; and at what cost.
