Mr. Ted Fletcherasked the Secretary of State for Trade what progress has been made in his discussions with the EEC with a view to enabling the Government to control the level of textile imports from Taiwan.
§ Mr. DeakinsAs I explained in the answer which I gave my hon. Friend on 6th May 1975, the Government are continuing to press for speedy action by the Community. In the meantime, existing United Kingdom restraints on imports of cotton textiles from Taiwan have been maintained.—[Vol. 891, c.434–5.]
