The current common import levy on butter—82 per cent. fat—is 144.03 ua/100 kgs, £746.07 per ton. The common levy on cheese varies according to type of cheese. On Cheddar cheese, it is 121.29 ua/100 kgs, £628.19 per ton; on matured Canadian Cheddar 15 ua/100 kgs £77.69 per ton. Rates of levy for the Irish Republic are reduced by accession compensatory amounts.
