asked the Secretary of State for Trade what is the estimated cost to the balance of payments of imports of flowers and plants for the most recently available year.

Mr. Deakins

There are no balance of payments figures relating specifically to imports of flowers and plants. For 1974, imports of these items valued cif may be obtained from Table III of the December 1974 volume of the Overseas Trade Statistics of the United Kingdom, the relevant headings being SITC(R) 292.61, 292.69 and 292.71.
