HC Deb 21 May 1975 vol 892 c436W
Mr. Spearing

asked the Minister of Agriculture, Fisheries and Food what was the United Kingdom price of beef per live cwt. on 1st January 1972, 1st November 1974 and 1st May 1975; and how these prices compared with the current and any proposed new intervention price for beef in the EEC.

Mr. Peart

The information is as follows:

minimum import prices for eggs—equivalent to 8.75 to 14.75p per dozen according to size—and for egg products, £660 per long ton for dried whole egg and £220 per long ton for frozen and liquid whole egg. United Kingdom minimum import prices were also introduced later that year for beef, poultry meat and certain dairy products. I will send my hon. Friend a copy of the Press notice announcing the CAP common prices agreed for 1975–76 and will also write to him to give him EEC prices as they will apply in the United Kingdom for the main commodities at the beginning of their respective 1975–76 marketing years.
