§ 30. Mr Dempseyasked the Secretary of State for Social Services if she will introduce amending legislation to enable persons losing employment due to an industrial dispute where it has been established they were neither directly nor 342W indirectly involved to be eligible to receive unemployment benefit; and if she will make a statement.
§ Mr. O'MalleyA provision is included in the Employment Protection Bill, now before Parliament, which will limit the disqualification for unemployment benefit to those who are participating in a trade dispute or who are directly interested in it. This is in line with the recommendations of the Donovan Commission in 1968.
