HC Deb 19 May 1975 vol 892 cc272-3W
Mrs. Bain

asked the Secretary of State for Social Services (1) how many representations she has received in the last year to set up a fund for compensation to vaccine-damaged children;

(2) what steps she has taken to improve the statistical knowledge of the occurrence of vaccine damage.

Mr. Alfred Morris

My right hon. Friend has received a large number of representations, almost all originating from the Association of Parents of Vaccine-damaged Children. Several research studies have been initiated.

As the hon. Member will be aware, I announced on 4th December last year that the scope of the family fund administered by the Joseph Rowntree Memorial Trust has been extended to include Vaccine-damaged children.
