§ Mr. BoothIn June 1974 the numbers of persons in Great Britain between the ages of 60 and 64 years inclusive were estimated to be 1,457,000 males and 1,654,200 females. The number of men in employment—employees and selfemployed—in this age group is estimated to have been approximately 1,136,000. On 8th July 1974, the nearest date for which information is available, there were 93,000 males in this age group registered as unemployed.
