Figures relating to the part of the hosiery and other knitted goods industry located in the East Midlands are not available.

Estimated import penetration for the whole of the United Kingdom industry in terms of value was:

persons described as self-employed, and in addition 228 receiving orders were made in Wales against partnerships or persons carrying on business on their own account.
