§ Mr. Woodallasked the Chancellor of the Exchequer what was the amount of revenue lost from granting tax relief on mortgages in 1974–75.
§ Mr. Robert Sheldon, pursuant to his reply [Official Report, 15th May 1975; 192W Vol. 892, c. 157], gave the following information:
The estimated full-year cost of tax relief on mortgage interest payments for 1974–75 is about £680 million.
