HC Deb 16 May 1975 vol 892 c183W
Mr. Trotter

asked the Prime Minister whether his answer to the hon. Member for Tynemouth on 13th May concerning flights by Ministers included flights in Civil Aviation Authority aircraft; and, if not, if he will give the same information in respect of such flights.

The Prime Minister

No. The previous Question did not ask about flights in aircraft of the Civil Aviation Flying Unit (CAFU), operated by the Civil Aviation Authority. In the period between 1st April and 3rd May three ministerial flights were made using CAFU flights. On 17th April the Secretary of State for Employment accompanied by the Secretary of State for Scotland and the Under-Secretary of State for Scotland travelled to Aberdeen to attend the Scottish Trades Union Congress Conference, leaving Northolt at 2.15 p.m. The Secretary of State for Industry travelled to Blackpool on 25th April to address the Amalgamated Union of Engineering Workers and to Newcastle on 30th April to address the Boilermakers' Union, leaving Northolt at 9.15 a.m. and 2 p.m. respectively.
