HL Deb 15 May 1975 vol 360 cc949-50WA
Baroness STEDMAN

asked Her Majesty's Government:

  1. (1) when and how they propose to release empty houses at Upwood Aerodrome, Cambridgeshire, so that they may be used for general housing purposes; and
  2. (2) whether any decision has been taken about the use which can be made of the main administrative and residential blocks at Upwood Aerodrome, and how soon these buildings will be occupied.

Lord WINTERBOTTOM

There is a continuing requirement for all the married quarters at RAF Upwood for use by other RAF stations in the area. The long-term use for the other facilities at RAF Upwood is now under review and I cannot at the moment say whether we shall have a need for the main administrative and residential blocks. I am not yet able to forecast precisely when a decision will be reached but this will not be unduly delayed.

House adjourned at twenty-three minutes before nine o'clock.
