HC Deb 12 May 1975 vol 892 c49W
Mr. Loyden

asked the Secretary of State for Prices and Consumer Protection if she is satisfied with the present system of metering charges on coin-operated television sets.

Mr. Alan Williams

On the information available to me I have no reason to suppose that there are any difficulties in this matter. However, I am always ready to consider the situation in the light of any complaints or problems which are brought to my attention.

Mr. Loyden

asked the Secretary of State for Prices and Consumer Protection if she will consider taking steps to protect the hirers of coin-operated television sets.

Mr. Alan Williams

The provisions of the Consumer Credit Act, under which I am now drawing up regulations, can provide a large measure of protection. In drawing up such regulations I am ready to consider any particular point that my hon. Friend cares to bring to my attention.
