HC Deb 12 May 1975 vol 892 c52W
Mr. Whitlock

asked the Secretary of State for Foreign and Commonwealth Affairs whether talks concerning Belize have been resumed between Her Majesty's Government and Guatemala; and, if so, what progress has been made in the talks.

Mr. Ennals

Exploratory talks at official level between Her Majesty's Government and Guatemala on the Belize-Guatemala dispute were resumed in New York in February, followed by a further round in New Orleans in April. A wide range of proposals for settlement of the dispute were examined and it was agreed to maintain contact.
