HC Deb 12 May 1975 vol 892 c45W
Mrs. Winifred Ewing

asked the Secretary of State for Industry how many men and women, respectively, are now employed in all the advance factories that have been built in Scotland since 1964.

Mr. Gregor Mackenzie

The information is not readily available in the form asked, but in all the Department's factories in Scotland 48,000 men and 31,000 women were employed at 31st March 1975. It is estimated that of these numbers 6,100 men and 4,000 women were employed in advance factories built since 1964.
