§ Mr. Hall-Davisasked the Secretary of State for Energy if he will take steps to allow owners of rented accommodation where electricity is supplied on both a 427W day rate and off-peak tariff to charge tenants the cost of electricity supplied plus 2p per day as an alternative to the present maximum.
§ Mr. EadieNo. The resale price fixed by an area board under Section 29 of the Electricity Act 1957 is the maximum which a landlord may charge; the basis of calculation of the maximum resale price—that is, the unit rate plus daily charge—takes into account different tariffs and unit rates which apply in a board's area.
