HC Deb 06 May 1975 vol 891 c405W
Mrs. Knight

asked the Secretary of State for Social Services what provision is currently being made for autistic children in the Birmingham area.

Dr. Owen

Paediatric assessment facilities are available at the Children's Dudley Road, Good Hope and East Birmingham hospitals. Community support is provided by the Birmingham Social Services Department and the Community Nursing Service of the Birmingham Area Health Authority (Teaching). Where hospital inpatient care is necessary it is provided at Lea Castle or Chelmsley hospitals. If the hon. Lady has any individual case which is causing concern I will gladly look into it.
