§ Mr. Wellbelovedasked the Chancellor of the Exchequer what was the net United Kingdom contribution to the budget of the European Communities in 1974–75.
§ Mr. Joel BarnettIn the United Kingdom financial year 1974–75, on the basis of provisional outturn figures, the United Kingdom's receipts from the community budget were approximately £35 million more than our contributions. This compares with an estimate in the White Paper "Public Expenditure to 1978–79" (Cmnd. 5879) of a net United Kingdom contribution in that period of £35 million. Receipts under the common agricultural policy (CAP) in the period November 1974-March 1975 were higher than originally estimated.
