§ Mr. Reidasked the Secretary of State for Scotland (1) what is his policy towards areas of considerable physical and social deprivation, such as Bowhouse, Alloa;
(2) what representations he has received from Alloa Town Council following publication of the SDD Report "Bowhouse, Alloa—Feasibility Study of Improvement Potential."
§ Mr. William RossI have received no representations from Alloa. I am anxious that local authorities should take urgent steps to tackle the social and physical problems of their deprived areas in a comprehensive way, and where they propose to do so my Departments are ready to co-operate and to offer guidance and advice.
