§ 29. Mr. Mikardoasked the Minister for the Civil Service whether he will lift the political restrictions which apply to certain classes of civil servants for the duration of the referendum campaign.
§ Mr. Charles R. MorrisIt has been agreed that, subject to certain exclusions and restrictions, all civil servants below the rank of Principal will be free to take part as ordinary citizens in the referendum campaign. The practical effect of this will be that a substantial number of civil servants normally barred from national political activities will be free to campaign.
