§ 21. Mr. Leslie Huckfieldasked the Chancellor of the Exchequer how many letters he has received from women's organisations about the taxation position of widows.
§ Dr. Gilbert:My right hon. Friend has received letters on this subject, some direct and some forwarded by hon. Members, from the War Widows' Association of Great Britain, from the National Association of Widows, and from various branches of the latter organisation. As he told the House on 27th February in reply to Questions from my hon. Friends the Members for 206W Gravesend (Mr. Ovenden) and Sheffield, Heeley (Mr. Hooley), he is considering the various representations put to him.
