§ Mr. Channonasked the Secretary of State for the Home Department what is the average delay between the hearing of an appeal against the decision of the entry clearance officer refusing entry to an applicant to settle in the United Kingdom, and the decision on the appeal being announced.
§ Mr. Alexander W. Lyon:In some cases the decision is announced at the hearing. Where the adjudicator reserves his determination it is usual for seven to 14 days to elapse before it is given, and longer in complex cases.
