§ Mr. Durantasked the Secretary of State for the Environment what progress is being made in the investigations of the Building Research Establishment into the degree of risk likely to exist in floor and roof beams incorporating high alumina cement in particular where the span of such beams is less than five metres; and when positive information and directives will be made available to the public and to all councils.
§ Mr. Freeson:The Building Research Establishment is now preparing a report on the results of its research and a circular summarising the findings will be sent to local authorities next month. The report will be published in May and a sub-committee of the Building Regulations Advisory Committee is being set up to report by the end of July on what advice can be given to local authorities and other building owners in the light of the report's findings.
