§ Mr. Grahamasked the Minister of Agriculture, Fisheries and Food if he will make a statement on the progress of the study by the City and Guilds of London Institute to determine a viable long-term basis for proficiency testing in agriculture.
§ Mr. StrangYes. The institute has submitted its report and my right hon. Friend proposes to consult the industry on its recommendations. In the meantime he proposes to make further funds available to enable the work of the National Proficiency Tests Council to continue. Assistance will be for the financial year 1975–76 only and subject to a limit of 25,000. Payment will rest on the authority of the Estimate which will be presented to Parliament in due course and the confirming Appropriation Act.
