§ Mr. Hugh JenkinsThe festival is being organised by the World of Islam Festival Trust in association with prominent British institutions and cultural organisations. There is no specific allocation of public funds for the promotion or organisation of the events in the festival. A number of bodies within my field of responsibility are mounting exhibitions on Islamic art, including the Arts Council, some of the national museums and the British Library. What is done is a matter for the institutions concerned in relation to their views of the importance of the arts involved.
