§ Mr. Sproatasked the Secretary of State for Foreign and Commonwealth Affairs what reply he has sent to the telegram of 7th March 1975 from the Scottish Trawler Federation regarding the renegotiation of EEC Common Fisheries Policy on limits.
§ Mr. Ennals:I have written explaining that the common fisheries policy was not among the issues included in renegotiation but that the Government recognise the need to modify the common fisheries policy if fishing limits are generally extended following the Law of the Sea Conference. I would refer hon. Members to my answer to a question by the hon. Member for Ross and Cromarty (Mr. Gray) on 17th March.—[Vol. 888, c. 336–7.]
