asked the Secretary of State for Industry whether it is his policy to encourage more steel exports, and by what means.

Mr. Meacher

Yes. Government export services are available to the steel industry as to all United Kingdom exporters. The 10-year development plan of the British Steel Corporation provides for substantial increases in its exports.
