§ Mr. Dan Jonesasked the Minister for the Civil Service how many administrative jobs have been created either by development or diversification in Newport Pagnell, Milton Keynes, Bletchley, Leighton Buzzard and Northampton in the past 10 years.
§ Mr. Charles R. Morris:There is no record of any Cvil Service work having been established in the places mentioned over the last 10 years as a result of either dispersal or the setting up of new Government organisations. It is regretted that full information about the numbers of non-industrial civil servants in the places mentioned over the last 10 years is not available and could only be obtained at disproportionate cost. Such information as is available shows that Civil Service non-industrial staff have decreased in Bletchley by 250 between January 1970 and January 1974 and increased in Northampton by 140 in the same period.
