§ 68. Mr. Matherasked the Minister of Agriculture, Fisheries and Food if he will take action following the failure of the International Whaling Commission to implement the 10-year moratorium on whaling called for by the United Nations Conference on the Environment at Stockholm in 1972.
§ Mr. Bishop:We shall continue to press, as we have at all subsequent meetings of the International Whaling Commission, for conservation measures to protect whale stocks, in accordance with international scientific advice. In addition, since the Stockholm Conference, the United Kingdom has imposed a ban on the import of all baleen whale products.
