§ Mr. Pardoeasked the Chancellor of the Exchequer what investigations have been carried out by his Department into the compliance costs to the individual taxpayer of various forms of taxation, including VAT at single and multi-rates.
§ Dr. Gilbert:The administrative requirements of various forms of taxation and the costs of compliance by individual taxpayers are kept under review and every attempt is made to keep them to a minimum.
