§ 36. Mr. Dalyellasked the Secretary of State for the Environment when he hopes to complete his intensive study of whether responsibility for the railways in Scotland should be hived off to a Scottish Assembly.
§ Mr. Crosland:The study of the railways is part of the Government's general consideration of the functions to be exercised by the proposed Scottish Assembly. As my right hon. Friend the Lord President of the Council made clear in the debate on devolution on 3rd February, it is too early to give a firm indication of a timetable.
